Why it exists

Making an image smaller is one of the most common things people do with a computer: attaching photos to an email, meeting the size limit on an application form, or speeding up a website. Most online tools handle this by uploading your files to their servers. That costs time, uses your data allowance, and means trusting a stranger with your photos.

Modern browsers are capable enough to do this work themselves. Vexluno is built around that idea: the website gives your browser the tools, and your images never have to leave your device.

How it works

When you add an image, your browser decodes it and draws it onto an off-screen canvas. Resizing happens there, and the result is encoded back to JPG, PNG or WebP using the browser's built-in encoders. For PNG compression, Vexluno reduces the image to an optimised palette of up to 256 colours with its own encoder. Heavy work runs in a background thread (a Web Worker), so the page stays responsive while a batch is processing. ZIP files for "Download all" are created in the browser too.

Because nothing is uploaded, there is no server that could store, analyse or lose your images.

What we care about

  • Honest privacy. We describe exactly what the site does with data in the Privacy Policy, including any third-party services.
  • Tools that work. Every page has a real, working tool, and every result shows its actual size so you can judge it yourself.
  • No friction. No accounts, no watermarks, no waiting rooms before downloads.

What's next

We plan to add more browser-based tools over time, such as cropping, rotating and removing metadata. If there is a tool you would find useful, let us know.
